Varying layouts and number of bedrooms

The Tunturi Hotel - and the nearby log cabin village - effectively forms the tiny  hamlet of Lousto. There are only a handful of shops, restaurants, cáfes and one more hotel to its name. Surrounding are frozen fells and white forests, the nearest major town being several hours drive away. In luosto you are bang in the middle of the Aurora zone, as you stand as good a chance of seeing the Northern Lights here than anywhere else in the Arctic Circle. The remoteness and size of the village ensures that it maintains its Finnish charm. The many activities on offer will  get you out in to the backcountry - across frozen lakes, past white-statue trees and over fells covered in deep powder - although the added bonus of Luosto is that it is also a small ski resort. Without enough runs to warrant inclusion as a ski destination for Different Snow - three lifts and seven pistes - but for those who wouldn't mind a touch of downhill skiing along with the huskies, snowmobiles and reindeers, then this is perfect. Indeed, the Tunturi Hotel also own the slopes.

These traditional wooden cabins form a small village-within-a-village, in the woods surrounding the Tunturi Hotel. The many facilities of the resort are available to you - swimming pool, spa, restaurants, bars and even nightclub (!) - but still living the idyllic dream of having your own cosy traditional log cabin. Creature comforts are all present and correct, as each has its own kitchenette, private sauna, shower room, log fire (wood provided) and drying room.  Generally, the cabins are open plan with two large double beds end to end, and above two single bunk beds accessible by ladder. Therefore, they can sleep six, but are more comfortable with two or four and we recommend these cabins for children who are happy sleeping on a top bunk and also for families who are comfortable with sleeping in one, sleeping four in cosy and communal comfort. There is also have the option to upgrade to larger two bedroom cabins, but these are are between 15-30 minutes walk from the centre of the resort.

Once you have the fire stocked up, your clothes drying and hot chocolate brewing we would argue it is impossible to dial up the cosynes any more!
