This is the ultimate luxury snow mobile safari of all time. Ever. As good as it gets. Accept nothing less.

The safari starts in Longyearbyen and heads to both beautiful Isfjord Radio on Cape Linnè and then to Tempelfjorden and the Ship in the Ice. You cover more than 125 miles on snowmobiles over the course of three days - over glaciers, mountains and frozen fjords, and visiting several significant historical sites. You will discover beautiful landscapes of blue and white and you will experience a stillness and light that is impossible to find elsewhere. If you are lucky, you may even glimpse the “king of the Arctic” - the polar bear. Combined with the unique accommodation, you will enjoy a level of quality and comfort that is unexpected so far into the wilderness.

All the necessary equipment is provided (thermo-overall, mittens, socks, boots, balaclava & helmet) and insurance for the snowmobile is covered. However, the driver of the snowmobile is held liable for damages caused to the vehicle to a max of €800. You can either drive alone or you can have a travel companion on board as a passenger (wrap up warm!) and, in these instances, it is usually possible to switch drivers during the safari. You must hold a valid driving license to take the controls. Also included in Spitsbergen is search and rescue insurance and a locally-savvy experienced tour leader, with all the necessary safety equipment and obligatory rifle.

Day 1

You meet at Trapper’s Hotel, where you sit down and discuss the itinerary, meet your guide and prepare for the trip of a lifetime. You are given warm outer clothing, and then head out the snow mobiles where a safety briefing is ever-important. It is now time for the Adventure Across the Arctic Land - you will head out to the wilderness and towards Kappline and Isfjord Radio. Enjoying an expedition lunch en route, surrounded by the arctic silence and the vast white landscape, before an evening arrival at Isfjord Radio, your remote boutique hotel and the last frontier before Greenland. Here the staff will warmly welcome you to the luxurious hotel and serve you a delicious 3-course meal. If you are up to it, you can even try a quick swim in the Arctic Ocean.

Day 2

After a substantial breakfast it is time to head into the beautiful landscape of Spitsbergen. Your guide chooses the day’s route depending on the weather and snow conditions. If the weather is good you can have a change to visit the Russian mining town Barentsburg, which is a home for some 300 persons. Explore the life of an isolated arctic town and visit some Russian buildings. Here you can really feel the history of Spitsbergen. In the early evening you will arrive to Tempelfjorden. Here at the foot of the majestic Templet Mountain lies the world’s only ice bound hotel ship ready to welcome you on board. After the snowy snowmobile drive in the wilderness it is lovely to get inside the warm ship, warm up your finger around a cup of coffee and embrace the arctic nature around you. After the adventurous day you get to sit down to enjoy 3-course dinner and fall asleep in the soft berths in double cabins.

Day 3

After another substantial breakfast, it is time to once again head into the beautiful landscape of Spitsbergen. Today you will explorer more of the nature around Spitsbergen and drive over glaciers, past snow covered mountains and frozen fjords. You will visit the beautiful blue Von Post glacier front. Here - if you are lucky - you can see or hear the glacier calving. You will enjoy an expedition lunch on the way. Arrive back in Longyearbyen during the late afternoon.

This three day trip costs £1,750 if you are driving a snow mobile. Passengers cost £1,195. Included are all activities, accommodation, meals, equipment and meals according to the program.
