Arguably the best of the town hotels, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Après ski is well-catered for with saunas and Jacuzzis and with a good set of facilities including a gym and swimming pool, it is also one of the better equipped hotels in the area.
The entrance area is a fairly inviting area with large sofas and reclining areas. The Superior Rooms were refurbished in 2009 and include a sitting area and dressing area. Some have big bay windows overlooking the lake, with a king sized bed, LCD TV and more.
There is a full service day spa on site for those who would like a little pampering of muscle relief with a massage.
They offer a hearty breakfast buffet and at dinner time La Tavola Restaurant serves Argentinean cuisine and wines. El Patio Bar offers casual dining with a range of light meals and appetizers. This terrace café also doubles as a bar where you can enjoy a relaxing drink from a comprehensive drinks menu.
Whilst doing the job expected of it admirably, our only negative is that it just lacks ‘that something extra’ - the ‘wow’ factor. However, a big bonus is that the front desk staff speak fluent English, and the service is really outstanding.
Right in the heart of Bariloche at San Martin 202 (continuation of Moreno), Hotel Edelweiss is certainly one of the better placed hotels in town. However, being set back from the lake means that the views are usually only partial, if at all.
This is downtown Bariloche and only a few minutes walk to Mitre (tourist central). The hotel is well located to explore the restaurants, bars and shops on foot, as well as the many Bariloche attractions.
