The original Prince hotel is tucked into the hillside in Kitanomine, close to the city as well as the ski village's childcare, ski school and varied après-scene. The Furano Prince Hotel has been upstaged by its younger, brasher brother (the New Furano Prince), and we think it's fair to say it could do with a facelift. But it does still provide a convenient base and a wide range of facilities, as well as providing regular shuttles to the newer hotel for easy access to Furano zone.

There are a range of rooms, including regular doubles and twins, family rooms sleeping up to six, and maisonette suites sleeping four with extra lounge space; larger rooms offer particularly good value for families. Many rooms share bathroom facilities and there is a pleasant public bath house. The hotel restaurant is fine, but we’d suggest that you make the most of your close proximity to Furano city, or stay closer to home and try some of Kitanomine’s little gems.

The hotel is ski-in, ski-out in the Kitanomine zone. The Prince is reasonably close to the village - walking to local restaurants is a possibility.

More affordable than the New Furano Prince. Indicative prices range from about ¥26,000 (£150) per room per night throughout the season, with breakfast included in the rate.
