Located next to the lifts in the Furano zone - away from Kitanomine - this is the best option in town for ski-in, ski-out convenience. The New Furano Prince Hotel is a big old boy, with over 400 Western style rooms and more facilities than we have space to itemise here; let's simply mention the five restaurants, indoor-outdoor baths with sauna, ski rental and storage, cafes, bars and a shop selling sweet, locally-made arts and souvenirs. You get the gist when it comes to the scale of this resort-within-the-resort.

The hotel also operates it's own ski school, so you really won’t have to go far – day or night - to find what you need. However, getting a late drink (after 11pm) proved to be a problem when we last visited - off to bed we went, all the while convincing ourselves we didn't actually need that final beer! However, when you do need a change of scene, you can easily catch the shuttle to Kitanomine or Furano city.

Rooms are all en suite, sleeping up to three people, and many have lovely views over the slopes. All told, a good resort hotel.

It is about a 10 minute taxi ride from downtown Furano and the JR Station and a regular shuttle bus will either take you here or in to Kitanomine.
