Practically a ski resort in its own right, Cortina Green Plaza Hotel dominates the base of Cortina - the farthest north of the ski areas - with its red tiled roof and mock-Georgian stylings. It certainly isn’t inconspicuous, if that’s your style, but it does provide ski-in, ski-out access at the foot of the powder hounds’ favourite; and you’ll no doubt appreciate the many facilities, which include: three restaurants; a fabulous onsen with 11 baths, steam rooms and saunas; a coffee shop and boutique; a children’s games room; and an English speaking ski school.

There’s also a complimentary shuttle available in the evenings if you’d like a change of scene. Accommodation includes 250 rooms, ranging from standard doubles to duplex suites sleeping five; all have stunning, uninterrupted views of the Japanese Alps.
