The first truly boutique hotel in Kyoto, Screen Hotel is a sleek, modern building on central Teramachi Street, just a few minutes from Imperial Palace. Inside it has great character, with 13 individually styled rooms, each created by a different designer; they’re all quite different, so check them out online before you book and we can try to secure your favourite.

Tea from the street’s legendary Teramachi tea merchants will be served in the lobby by Mika-san, your urbane hostess, and there is a chilled out roof terrace for cocktails as well as a good French fusion restaurant in-house. The location is convenient for sightseeing by day or great dining/drinking by night; and when you retire, you’ll enjoy spacious rooms with flat screen TVs, iPod docks and luxurious bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs.
