The Monterey celebrates Nagasaki's Portuguese heritage in its architecture and decor. The walls are adorned with blue tiles, expertly painted by European craftsmen, and it creates a colourful and welcoming atmosphere. There are two restaurants - Amalia Salao serving Italian cuisine and Saudade offering lighter snacks and meals- and the modern guestrooms are well-equipped, being presented as antique, country, elegant, and classical in style, according to their literature. They pull it off - its a great little hotel.
Hotel Monterey Nagasaki is a two minute walk from the Oura Kaigan Dori Tram Stop and a five minute walk from the historical Hollander Slope.
