How to Book

We don’t believe in off-the-shelf packages - we tailor-make holidays.

  • Tell us what you want to do. Whether you have detailed plans or just a vague idea, get in contact – we have knowledge, ideas and expertise.
  • We build a tailored itinerary. Once you’ve received it, we can answer any further questions and refine it until you are completely happy.
  • Book it. When you are satisfied with all the arrangements, we ask you to complete a booking form and pay a deposit, at which point we start confirming everything.

Different Snow is a fully bonded tour operator, which means we automatically take responsibility for your whole holiday, offering you 100% financial security.

Nozawa’s three base areas are above the village. This is not a purpose-built resort (thank goodness!) and, consequently, there is not much planned ski-in, ski-out accommodation. You'll likely find yourself down in the village – which is where you want to be for the atmoshere – with a short walk uphill to the slopes, or rather taking the Yu Road travelator to Hikage, where most of the restaurants, childcare and ski school are located. Nagasaka and Karasawa are the other bases.

This is a place in which many choose to stay in a ryokan – traditional Japanese inns where the focus is on peace, comfort, wholesome home-cooked food and onsen culture, providing a window into authentic Japan. Traditional beds are in the form of roll-away tatami mats and futons on the floor, but many of Nozawa’s ryokans also offer Western beds.

In addition, there are several Western style hotels and cheaper pensions if you prefer; and if your brood needs a little more space, you might like to opt for an apartment at Address.
