If you’re a believer in location, location, location, you could do a lot worse that Nozawa Grand Hotel – in the prime 'out of village' spot, but still an easy stroll from restaurants and bars, just a hop from the ski lift, and with gorgeous views over to the ski slopes to boot. It’s also a good choice if you’d like to experience Japanese hospitality without leaving behind your home comforts: you can choose between newly refurbished and spacious Japanese, semi-Japanese or Western rooms; and the restaurant serves a mix of dishes. Similarly, most rooms feature both Western and Japanese seating as well as TVs.

The hotel has an indoor onsen and outdoor hot springs (rotenburo) with a delightful snowy outlook - and the superior rooms benefit from private open air baths. If your muscles are still tired after all that soaking, try one of the massages on offer.

  • Bath Tub
  • Front Desk
  • Onsen
  • Panoramic Views
  • Parking
  • Ski Lockers
  • Television
  • Wireless Internet (Free) (Public Areas only)

Situated just 200 metres from Shin-Yu public onsen, looking back towards the village and the ski slopes, the Grand Nozawa sits apart from the village. It takes about five minutes to walk the 300 metres from the Yu Road moving walkway. To walk in to the centre of the village takes just a little bit longer.

Based on two people sharing, indicative prices range from ¥26,000 (£150) per night during low season for a ‘Compact’ Twin Room without dinner, rising to ¥52,000 (£300) for a ‘Deluxe’ Japanese Room, with low beds, a roten-buro bath and dinner included.
