Norway is nearby - indeed it is one of the closest places to travel to from the UK for a ski holiday. Whilst most travel for the conventional 'ski week', at Different Snow we can create itineraries to cover any duration - long weekend? 10 days? Two weeks? City break thrown in? All possible. And because we are the tailor-made specialists there is no need to stick to set departure dates dictated to us by crammed charter flights and allocated accommodation in the resort. We start with a blank canvas and you call the shots.
With indicative prices starting from circa £580 per person for a week's skiing (flights, accommodation, transfers and lifts pass), it's affordable also.
One of the most important choices to make is how to get to the resort from Oslo airport. There are direct coach transfers, the rail network is second-to-none and can involve some really quite beautiful journeys, often travelling past fjords and over mountain plateaus. Then there is always the option of self-drive - which then affords you to freedom to explore new places. We'll talk you through the options. With your own car you could combine different resorts on one itinerary - Hemsedal and Geilo? Trysil and Lillehammer?
Irrespective of how you transfer to the ski resort, a city break in Oslo is always a possibility. The vibrant and cosmopolitan capital of Norway, rich in Viking heritage, is a compact and welcoming city. We'll happily arrange a hotel and talk you through the 'Oslo Pass' - granting you free access to all public transport and also entry to over 30 museums and attractions. Another option would be to spend some time in the beautiful city of Bergen - with its colourful harbourside.
