The Korean Ski Safari

High 1 - YongPyong (PyeongChang) - Seoul

Duration: 11 days

If you simply wanted an itinerary that gets you to the best skiing in South Korea, without fuss, then we'd send you directly to High 1, where you need a couple of days is do the ski mountain justice. 

From there it is a pleasant drive through the many valleys dissecting the Taebaek mountains to YongPyong, the country's best known ski resort and home to the 2018 Olympic Games. Spend a further three days skiing, perhaps with a morning (though no more is needed!) in next door Alpensia.

Ski's are then packed away, as you ride the KTX train back to the capital for a couple of days in one of Asia’s most exciting cities. Perhaps head to the nearby DMZ for a fascinating encounter with modern history?

Day 1

Arrive in Seoul and transfer direct to Sabuk (by train, coach or private vehicle) and on to High 1 resort. Settle in to the High 1 Hotel.

Days 2 & 3

Two full days skiing in High 1. Perhaps, also, try your hand in the casino at night?

Day 4

Transfer by road from High 1 to the PyeongChang region and YongPyong resort. Settle in to the Dragon Valley Hotel and enjoy the many facilties of the hotel complex.

Days 5 to 7

Three full days skiing 1n YongPyong, perhaps with one day (or, even morning) in next door Aplensia.

Day 8

Road transfer down to Jinbu Station and then take the KTX train (super-high speed service) all the way back to Seoul. Check in to your hotel in the Insadong or Myeong-dong district. 

Day 9

Full day at leisure, to explore Seoul at your own pace. Visit futuristic Gangnam, historic Bukchon and aim to be at Namsan Seoul Tower for sun down, watching the city lights flicker on from this unique vantage point.

Day 10

Full day excursion to the DMZ and spend the day touring this intriguing region, looking over to North Korea and exploring the recently discovered tunnels.

Day 11

Depart from Seoul Incheon Airport, heading home.

Cost depends on which accommodation you choose, whether we use public transport and private vehicles, whether you wish to include ski hire, etc. An indicative lead-in price for this 11-day itinerary would be circa £925 per person, based on 3 or 4 star accommodation (low season).

Different Snow can also include flights from your home country, be it the UK or elsewhere. Therefore, this indicative cost does not include international flights.

2. Let us create a bespoke itinerary

We have the first-hand knowledge, travel industry experience and local contacts required to put your plans into action. We can answer your questions, offer suggestions and advice to suit your tastes and budget. We will carefully design your trip, creating a detailed itinerary which you will receive via email. We can then refine it until you are completely happy.

3. Confirm the arrangements with us

Once you are satisfied with all the arrangements, we ask you to complete a booking form and pay a deposit to secure your trip. Everything is secured once you receive our confirmation invoice. Even after booking, you’ll undoubtedly think of more questions. Feel free to call us at any time!

4. We'll send you your travel documents

Approximately three weeks before travel you will receive your travel documents. We will also provide additional information, such as restaurant recommendations, cultural notes, packing lists and one or two home-spun guides - created through our personal experience.
